Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy uses a state of focused relaxation and heightened suggestibility to help clients access and shift unconscious patterns, beliefs, and behaviours. It is a clinically recognised therapeutic tool used for a wide range of issues.
Cultural origin
Modern hypnotherapy developed in Europe in the 18th and 19th centuries, though trance states have been used in healing across cultures since ancient times.
What a session involves
The practitioner guides the client into a relaxed, trance-like state using verbal cues. In this state, therapeutic suggestions are introduced. Clients remain aware and in control throughout. Sessions last 60–90 minutes.
Who it's for
Anyone working with habits, phobias, anxiety, trauma, performance, sleep, or pain management. Hypnotherapy is particularly effective for smoking cessation, weight management, and IBS.
