EFT (Tapping)
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), commonly known as tapping, combines elements of cognitive therapy and exposure therapy with acupressure. By tapping on specific meridian points while focusing on a difficult emotion or memory, EFT helps to reduce the body's stress response to that issue.
Cultural origin
Developed by Gary Craig in the United States in the 1990s, drawing on acupuncture meridian theory and psychology.
What a session involves
The practitioner guides the client through a sequence of tapping on specific points on the face, collarbone, and hands while voicing specific statements. Sessions are gentle, non-invasive, and can be done in person or online. Sessions last 60–90 minutes.
Who it's for
Anyone working with anxiety, phobias, trauma, cravings, or performance blocks. EFT is also widely taught as a self-help tool.
