Bowen Technique
The Bowen Technique is a gentle, non-invasive bodywork method that uses precise, rolling movements over muscles, tendons, and fascia. Between each set of moves the practitioner pauses, allowing the body time to integrate and respond. It works with the nervous system to reset tension patterns throughout the body.
Cultural origin
Developed in Australia by Tom Bowen in the 1950s.
What a session involves
Performed fully clothed on a treatment table. The practitioner makes small, precise moves at specific points on the body, followed by periods of rest. Sessions last 45–60 minutes. Most people feel deeply relaxed or sleepy during treatment.
Who it's for
Anyone with musculoskeletal pain, sports injuries, respiratory issues, or stress. Suitable for all ages from newborns to the elderly.
